The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates once famously said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." When asked which single proposition all philosophical questions could ultimately be reduced to, he replied: "Know thyself." This course centers precisely on this imperative to "Know thyself." It aims to illuminate the deeper dimensions of our identity. Through integrating ancient philosophy, modern computational metaphors, and scientific inquiry, we explore transpersonal psychology’s central concepts of “innate potential” and the “higher self”. Students will examine how these concepts relate to altered states of consciousness, spiritual evolution, and personal growth. The course emphasizes experiential learning, scholarly discourse, and the synthesis of philosophical, technological, and psychological perspectives.
