This course outlines systems theory and intervention, and historical and current trends in family therapy. The family is considered as the unit of treatment, and symptoms are viewed as a part of the systemic matrix of relationship. The family is considered within larger sociocultural systems. Assessment, diagnosis, and intervention are addressed from the systemic perspective.
